Happy birthday to me!
Greetings, dear Medium, it’s time for a check-in. I’m a big fan of celebrating milestones and today is a big one — it’s my birthday!
So, I’m here to take a pause and a look backwards, with thanks, for this writer community at Medium.
Today I am 53 years old.
It’s kind of an awkward year to celebrate. It’s not a milestone birthday, and it’s old enough that many would call me childish to even note it publicly. But to them I say — pfffft.
I’m a Leo, I love birthdays, and especially my own. I’m grateful for every goddamn year I get to spend in this life, and I plan to celebrate it, as audaciously as I choose.
One of the most amazing things to happen to me last year was to start writing for Medium. It’s not an overstatement to say it’s been transformational.
And now, Medium has given me an amazing birthday gift. Today I crossed a big threshold — 2,000 followers!!
This is astonishing to me after just three months, but here we are. Happy birthday to me!
