I love how you wrote this, Alice. I’m inclined to agree with you and also, it wasn’t my experience here. In my brief courtship with him, he was a strange mix of testing boundaries like this and also wanting to go slow physically. Revisiting it now, he feels more erratic/conflicted than anything else, and his disappearance confirmed it.

I will likely never know why and writing this was part of me making peace with that.
