I talk to my 15yo daughter--who is gorgeous and likes to walk around in very tiny outfits--about propriety, and what's appropriate in different settings. She's started self-editing her style (like wearing a hoodie when alone on public transport to limit the attention she gets). I hate that I need to impart this to my daughters and also, I'm glad they're learning. It's such a challenging subject. Thanks for your thoughtful story!
