The comments on this story have been fascinating. Every woman gets it--the nuance in the story. Many men seem so affronted by it.

It would be nice if men could read this story--and many of the comments--and reflect on why many, many women have experienced the male gaze as a threat. And that doesn't mean we see all male attention as "universally bad." We are able to tell the difference.
