Yes!! I’ve had an article half-written for months about how we need to read our boys the classics with female protagonists, for the same reasons. Boys need to know Anne Shirley and Sara Crewe and Jo Marsh and Pippi Longstocking because they need to meet these courageous, brainy, ahead-of-their-time characters, who most girls grow up reading.
